Home visit by a paediatric nurse

Home visits are primarily provided for premature newborns who still require follow-up care after being discharged from the hospital.

Home visits are carried out by a paediatric nurse or a midwife from the department who will assess the child's condition during the home visit. During the visit, the family will also be advised on caring for and feeding the child. Home nursing helps support the family in adjusting to their new role and allows them to leave the hospital and go home earlier.

The neonatology home nursing service is aimed at the following target group:

  • Premature babies, gestational age of 32+0 to 36+6 weeks
  • Newborns with a low birth weight (below 2500 grams)
  • Multiples
  • Children with social or environmental risk factors

Home visits are only made within Tallinn.
