Turn of the year in Central Hospital Maternity Ward

The new year has already seen the birth of new babies. A total of five children – two girls and three boys – had been delivered in the East Tallinn Central Hospital Maternity Ward by the afternoon of the very first day of 2021.

The very first baby of 2021 was a boy born in the middle of the night at 02:59. He weighed 3738 grams, measured 52 cm and was named Kristjan. The newborn citizen is in good health and is gaining strength in the hospital room with his mother.

11 babies spent their first New Year’s Eve in the newborn department with their mothers and will hopefully soon be strong enough to go home.

10 children – seven girls and three boys – were born on 31 December, the last day of 2020.

280 babies, including four pairs of twins, were born in our maternity ward in December last year. 150 of the children born during the month of Christmas were girls and 130 were boys.

We wish all of the little ones a wonderful time growing up and offer congratulations to all families with newborn babies.
